LEVELS OF CARE

Evaluation & Assessment

Our  substance use disorder treatment starts with a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care. Additionally, PSI’s affiliate program, MCAP Chicago, is available for formal multi-day fitness for duty evaluations tailored for individuals working in safety sensitive roles, including healthcare professionals, attorneys, and other high-accountability professionals. This comprehensive assessment includes an evaluation of substance use patterns, physical and mental health, medical history, boundaries and more and can be a starting point for many individuals to determine their treatment needs.

Partial Hospitalization

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Chicago provides a full day of intensive, structured substance abuse treatment. Programming is conducted five days a week with a focus on personalized group therapy, effective coping skills and strategies, addiction education, and individual therapy to create the foundation for life in recovery. This takes place in a supportive environment with access to ancillary therapeutic and psychiatric services while allowing patients the flexibility to return home at night and maintain important family relationships.

Intensive Outpatient Program

With day and evening hours, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides substance abuse treatment in a comfortable, convenient location in downtown Chicago. Daytime IOP provides a half day of structured outpatient treatment five days a week. Evening IOP is three nights a week to accommodate the needs of busy professionals. With a focus on evidence-based small-group therapy, clients receive a personalized treatment plan with continued access to PSI’s psychiatrists and individual sessions as needed. Ideal for those not needing medical detox or 24/7 supervision, IOPs help in transitioning from residential care or can be an alternative to inpatient treatment.
