David Gasper, MA, LCPC
David is a family therapist at Positive Sobriety Institute, where he facilitates groups on communication, relational-attachment, post traumatic growth, and values-based recovery. He believes that support and connection are important factors in healing and recovery. He works collaboratively with patients and their families to provide a welcoming, calm, and supportive environment to process their stories, gain new skills, and deepen their recovery journey.
He offers an individual kickstart on problematic compulsive sexual behavior/addition. He received his master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Adler University and his bachelor’s in social science from Shimer College. He is presently working on obtaining his Certified Sex Addiction Therapist credential through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals and is both a Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Prior to joining PSI David was a counselor on a 90-day men’s dual diagnosis residential treatment program and saw clients in private practice with a focus on working with queer individuals around life transitions. Outside of work David provides clinical consulting for a local charity focused on nightlife and service industry employees’ mental health.
