Emiley Strachan, CADC
Emiley Strachan is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor registered with IOADAPCA. They have a passion for supporting individuals who struggle with any kind of life-altering addiction. Thanks in part to their own recovery journey, they are able to use personal anecdotes, years of professional experience, and ongoing development of their working knowledge of addiction and recovery to ensure that those who enter treatment are able to lead exemplary and choice-filled lives.
Emiley began their career at Haymarket Center on the Mother and Children Unit, where they counseled pregnant and postpartum women being treated for substance use and living alongside their newborns. They also have experience as a case manager with Thresholds, doing street outreach with Chicagoans who suffer from co-occurring mental illness/addiction find housing, medical care, and substance use treatment. Emiley names their strength as being able to “meet people where they are”. Their natural ability to connect with their clients both personally and professionally push the therapeutic relationships they build to new levels of success with their clients. Emiley specializes in issues facing adoptees, the LBGTQIA+ community, and people who suffer from substance use disorder. In their free time, Emiley enjoys spending time with their wife, son, and dog Noodle.
