Dominic Angres, MA, LCPC, CADC

is Executive Director of Positive Sobriety Institute. His duties entail program and business development, clinical research, and facilitating patient care from intake through aftercare. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Dominic has a master’s degree in clinical professional psychology.

Dominic has expertise in assessing and managing addicted healthcare and other professionals. He serves as an advocate and ambassador to individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders and dual diagnoses. To ensure a smooth transition into the appropriate level of care, he functions as a clinical liaison between patients and referral sources. He is accessible seven days a week to answer questions and offer guidance. He has an outstanding reputation as an empathic, knowledgeable resource to patients, families, referral sources and members of the community. In addition, Dominic coordinates continuing care and sober living arrangements for patients after discharge. He also oversees alumni affairs.

Dominic started his career as a research assistant at Resurrection Behavioral Health. While in graduate school, he worked in a medical stabilization program for alcohol and drug dependence at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago. He later joined the addiction treatment team at Gateway Foundation as a counselor and admissions coordinator. He also served on the community outreach team at Chicago Lake Shore Hospital.

Prior to joining Positive Sobriety Institute, Dominic worked as an individual and group counselor and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) coordinator for TMS Chicago. TMS, used for treatment-resistant depression, broadened Dominic’s knowledge and passion for mental health and addiction treatment.

Dominic is following in the pioneering footsteps of his parents, Daniel Angres, MD, and Kathy Angres, APN, MS, RN, CADC, who are nationally known for their seminal work in addiction treatment. He is an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast.
